Treatment of autonomic dysreflexia for adults and adolescents with spinal cord injuries

Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD) is a potentially life threatening condition that can impact 20-70% of individuals with spinal cord injuries at T6 or higher. When triggered it can cause symptoms of excessively high blood pressure, pounding headache, flushing in the face, sweating above the level of injury, goose bumps below the level of injury, nausea, a slow pulse, and stuffy nose.
