Sterling caps a historic season with its first 1A state championship since 1982, edging Rossville 35-34 in a 1A instant classic. The Black Bears sealed it with :56 left as sophomore Jacob Lewis hauled in a touchdown pass from Logan Isaac (who had thrown just 19 passes all season). Senior standout Zane Farney powered the offense with three rushing touchdowns, while Wyatt Newberry delivered impact plays on both sides of the ball.
