Hernando County Parks & Recreation is officially reopening Alfred McKethan Pine Island Park located at 10800 Pine Island Drive (off County Road 495 west of Weeki Wachee), Friday, August 1, 2025, at 8:30am. ✅ Due to anticipated high demand, the park will close to incoming visitors once it reaches capacity. 🏖️ Guests are encouraged to arrive early, carpool 🚙 when possible, utilize Mermaid Route 9 🚌, and be patient with staff and other visitors.
